Do you test your products on animals?
DHC Corporation of Japan, our parent and the founding company of DHC, never tests its products on animals or asks other to do so on its behalf. However, DHC is now a global brand with related companies in countries all over the world, including China, which still requires animal testing by law. Thus, the DHC affiliate operating in China is required to perform a certain amount of animal testing on some of the products offered in that country to comply with local laws. DHC Corporation and its affiliates strongly disagree with China’s position on animal testing and support the international efforts to convince China that animal-free alternative testing methods are available to ensure safe products.
How do I use it?
Dispense into dry hands, then massage onto dry face to dissolve make-up, dirt and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly.
Why do I have to use dry hands?
Deep Cleansing Oil’s olive and rosemary oil formula is water-soluble, meaning it dissolves when it comes into contact with water. That’s why it washes away completely during rinsing, without leaving any oily residue behind. To maximise its cleansing power, make sure your hands and face are dry when you apply and massage it into your skin. That way, you’ll know that is thoroughly breaking down make-up and excess sebum before rinsing.
Do I have to use another cleanser after it?
Cleansing your skin is really two steps: removing make-up and washing your face. Using both a make-up remover and lathering face cleanser is the best way to ensure your skin is thoroughly clean, particularly if you’re someone who wears make-up daily. Deep Cleansing Oil is specially formulated to mix with the oil-based components in make-up and “melt” on contact with water so that dissolved make-up can rinse away. Lathering cleansers, like our Mild Soap, wash skin of finer impurities.
Generally, soaps are lathering products that contain surfactants, which aid in emulsifying oils and suspending dirt on your skin, allowing them to be easily rinsed away. Surfactants also create surface tension that helps pull dirt and grime from your skin. On days that you don’t wear make-up, using just one lathering cleanser (click here to see our complete selection), will do.
Why should I use one?
Toning is an essential step in skincare. Not only does it instantly refresh and rehydrate your complexion after cleansing, it also helps decongest pores and balance your natural pH level—promoting a calmer complexion. Plus, it preps skin to best receive the benefits of your booster and moisturiser. Our toners combine nourishing botanical ingredients with the most advanced skincare formulas to produce truly noticeable results. In fact, our toners are so nourishing and hydrating, we call them “lotions.”
